Pruebas Nacionales — "Tienes Talento" (Dominican Republic)

A ten-minute, mobile-first digital experience delivered to Dominican students right after they sit the Pruebas Nacionales, the national high-school exit exam. Students predict and then see how they performed relative to their peers, and those who score well receive an identity-affirming message — "Tienes Talento" — along with a four-step guide to applying for MESCyT scholarships and a personalized AI coach. The study tests whether that affirmation increases applications to selective higher-education programs and scholarships, using a combined randomized trial and regression-discontinuity design.

Target population

Students graduating from Dominican high schools who sit the Pruebas Nacionales (ages 17–18)

Key outcomes

  • Pre-analysis plan registered before launch (May 2026)
  • Primary outcomes: intention to apply to a selective program and self-reported likelihood of applying
  • Long-term follow-up links to scholarship applications and 2027 higher-education enrollment
